Privacy Policy

Your privacy is fundamental to how Signal Kiosk is built.

🔒 Our Commitment

Signal Kiosk is designed with a privacy-first architecture. We do not operate servers, collect user data, or track your behavior. Your data belongs to you and stays on your devices and in your private iCloud account.

💾 Data Storage

All your data is stored in two places — both under your control:

  • On your device in local storage (articles, cached images, preferences)
  • In your private iCloud container via CloudKit (subscriptions, read state, folders, settings)

We have no access to your iCloud data. Apple's CloudKit provides end-to-end encrypted sync between your devices using your Apple Account.

🚫 What We Do NOT Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
  • No advertising identifiers or ad profiling
  • No reading history or article engagement data
  • No location data
  • No third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel)

🧠 AI Processing

Signal Kiosk uses AI to generate daily briefings, trending topics, and article summaries. All AI processing happens entirely on your device using Apple's on-device models. No article content is sent to external servers for analysis.

🌐 Network Requests

Signal Kiosk connects to the internet solely to:

  • Fetch RSS and Atom feed content from the feed URLs you subscribe to
  • Sync your data between your devices via Apple's CloudKit (iCloud)
  • Load article images for display and caching

We do not operate any intermediary servers. Feed requests go directly from your device to the feed source. We never see what you subscribe to or read.

🔑 iCloud & CloudKit

Sync is powered by Apple's CloudKit using your private iCloud database. This means:

  • Only you can access your synced data
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
  • We cannot read, query, or export your CloudKit data
  • Deleting the app or disabling iCloud removes your synced data

🛡️ Third-Party Services

Signal Kiosk does not integrate any third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising services. The only third-party connections are the RSS/Atom feeds you choose to subscribe to, and those connections are made directly from your device.

For optional Microsoft 365 integrations, OAuth authentication is handled directly between your device and Microsoft's servers. We do not store or relay your Microsoft credentials.

📝 Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, changes will be reflected on this page. Our core commitment — no data collection, no tracking, no servers — is a foundational design decision, not a policy choice, and will not change.
